When Wayne and Carmen arrive at the office Nelson Daives isn't there so they sit and wait. Wayne, being all dressed up sits in Daives chair looking boss like when Bird and Richie enter. They think Wayne is Daives and tell him to give them the money or they will kill him. Wayne says its out in his truck so he leads them outside. He reaches in his Ironworker toolbox and pulls out a large metal rod known as a sleever bar starts going ape shit on the two. He knocks one across the chest and the other, Richie, runs inside and fires shots at Wayne. He comes in after him and ends up making a mess of the real estate office. Wayne throws Richie out a story high window and sends the two off bleeding. The police arrive and question Wayne and Carmen and say that they know who the criminals might be and will have to stay with them at their house with them for their own safety. The next chapter is filled with a lot of police questioning. Carmen and Wayne both do not enjoy the cops constantly wanting coffee and food made for them but have to endure. Meanwhile Richie and Bird retreat to where Richie is living not far from ALgonac in a correction officers home. Her name is Donna and she is who makes the two food and cleans their wounds. Once their wounds are taking care of the two vow to kill the ironworker and his wife so they go searching for them. The Bird happened to see Wayne at a convienent store a few days before talking to a man name Lionel. Lionel is someone The Bird has known and not liked all his life so he goes to him and asks him to take them hunting on his pontoon. They end up getting the info from Lionel and shooting him to death. first 3 chapters

So far in Killshot not a whole lot has happened but I can tell it is just building up a good story. It starts of with Armand Degas or " The Blackbird ", just sitting in his hotel room waiting for a call for some work. He gets a call and asked to a job in Toronto, Canada. Soon it becomes apparent The Bird is a contracted killer and his next job is to take out an old man at a hotel in Toronto. Armand enters the mans room and kills him and for his work his employers give him a brand new blue cadillac. Armand thens drives into another part of Canada where he was raised and eats a restaraunt. While he sits down to dinner another man named, Richie Nix is eyeing him from across the room plotting to rob him of his car and money. After the dinner Richie pulls a gun on Bird and tells him to drive off. Once the leave Armand soon pulls his gun on Richie and soon they realize they could work together to pull off some real crimes. Richie plans to rob a real estate agent down in Algonac, Michigan. Next chapter sheds light on the two main characters Carmen and Wayne Colson who live Algonac. Carmen has just recently gotten a job at Nelson Daives realty where the robbery by the two criminals is planned. Carmen decides to have her husband Wayne meet Nelson Daives himself so they plan to go meet him up at the office. Meanwhile Bird and Richie are on there way to collect their money. Hopefully things do not get ugly.

outside reading

I chose to read the book killshot by elmore lenord for a couple of reasons. First off my grandma got it for me so I think it must be a good book. Also I read the back and it sounds interesting enough to read so I think I will give it a fair shot.

gender roles

In a recent article I read, it said that women score 12% higher on math tests without men in the room. Being outnumbered by men make women suffer from the " stereotype threat". It occurs when the target of a stereotype becomes aware of the stereotype in that situation. For example the stereotype that men are better at math then women. The presence of men can interfere with the anxiety of a women taking a test and ultimately cause her to score lower. This info points out the danger of stereotypes and how they affect people.

different culture

Recently in an article I read, the pope traveled to Africa to celebrate mass. He celebrated it in Angola where an estimated 1 million people came to watch. The bible readings tell about the destruction of war and other things. The pope also prayed for the two women who were trampled at the ceremony in Angola and died. People played music throughout the service and listened attentively to the pope's words. He said that Africa was very important and how he would like to convert many people there. However he commented that he does not like to travel in his old age and Africa is highly infected with AIDS.

mcnuggets struggle

In this article I read, a Latreasa Goodman called 911 three times over a dispute at mcdonalds. She ordered mcnuggets but when mcdonalds ran out and could not give her the nuggets she payed for she called the police saying she could not get a refund. Ever since this outrageous phone call, goodman has been receiving hateful messages on her cell phone and has gained some fame from inside edition. She was also on the news and feels embarrased by all the attention of call the cops on a 10 piece nugget meal worth 3.49. She says she was just trying to get her money back since they had no nuggets. In response to all this, a mcdonalds manager stated that he would send Latreasa a refund. Also he said that he doesnt want to dissapoint a mcnugget fan so he offered her to return for her original order on mcdonalds of course. Latreasa had to go to court for making unecessary emegency calls. and i agree this girl is an idiot.

natural disaster

This week I read an article about a asteroid that could potenially cause a natural disaster for earth. In the article, an austrailian who was looking out a very large telescope discovered asteroid DD45 flying 38,000 miles from earth. That may sound like fairly large distance, but this asteroid is 40 yards wide and less the twice the distance earths satelites are at. The australian says this could cause massive damage if it hit earth but lucky it is only something we should be aware of for now. He says this same asteroid circles the sun every 18 months, and will not be a threat until the next century. Even though this asteroid isnt something to worry about it makes me wonder about what other asteroids could be flying towards earth...
