gender roles

In a recent article I read, it said that women score 12% higher on math tests without men in the room. Being outnumbered by men make women suffer from the " stereotype threat". It occurs when the target of a stereotype becomes aware of the stereotype in that situation. For example the stereotype that men are better at math then women. The presence of men can interfere with the anxiety of a women taking a test and ultimately cause her to score lower. This info points out the danger of stereotypes and how they affect people.
