natural disaster

This week I read an article about a asteroid that could potenially cause a natural disaster for earth. In the article, an austrailian who was looking out a very large telescope discovered asteroid DD45 flying 38,000 miles from earth. That may sound like fairly large distance, but this asteroid is 40 yards wide and less the twice the distance earths satelites are at. The australian says this could cause massive damage if it hit earth but lucky it is only something we should be aware of for now. He says this same asteroid circles the sun every 18 months, and will not be a threat until the next century. Even though this asteroid isnt something to worry about it makes me wonder about what other asteroids could be flying towards earth...
